Stable News - 14th January- Fontwell

A very wet day in Sussex , a lot milder but the sort of rain that soaks you right through. I am pleased to say both yesterdays runners have come out of thier races fine and Delta Rose went for a hack with Ella and is none the worse for wear after her tired fall. So that is great news.

Today we have two runners at Fontwell. First we have "El Tornado" who is owned by The Develeco Group who is having his third run over hurdles this time at a slightly longer trip which should suit him. El Tornado runs in the 1:00 Fontwell 14 JAN 2021SKY 2m5½f (2m5f164y) Watch Off The Fence On attheraces.com Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 4) (4yo+). He is a big Chaser, you will not see the best of him until he is jumping fences, hopefully next season. He is a very big horse who we are taking our time to educate. Today is all about continuing his education and learning to race. We are looking for a clear round and him finishing his race well. El Torando will be led up by George Sturgis.

Then a long gap until the last race , when "My Bad Lucy" runs in the 4:00 Fontwell 14 JAN 2021SKY 2m1½f (2m1f162y) Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Maiden National Hunt Flat Race (Conditionals/Amateurs) (GBB Race) (Class 5) (4-6yo). My Bad Lucy is a new recruit who belongs to Mike O'Shea ( who owned Theos Charm). This is his debut run for us. He won a point to point in Ireland, so has racecourse experience and we like him a lot. He has a lovely attitude and will be ridden by Niall Houlihan. So we are hopeful of a good positive first run. Hopefully the ground will not be too testing.

The horses will be led up by Andrew Veale and George Sturgis. Good Luck to all connections and Team Gifford.
