Today was a long day , we started off the day with the plan to have three runners at Huntingdon. Then unfortunately one of the lorries broke down on the M25 with two horses on . Both horses and staff were fine , but had to wait until the highways agency and police closed both sides to ensure it was safe to unload and load the horses on to the recovery vehicle ( apologies for any motorists caught up in this ) . Finally got on route to Huntington, but arrived only 7 minutes before “Pip Away “ was supposed to run , so she was unable to run .
Fairway Freddy ran really well to finish 3rd over a longer trip , it was a bit softer than he likes but running out of options with all the rain .
Onesteptwosteps ran on the 2.40 chase and ran really well up to a point and then stopped very quickly , we will go back to the drawing board and try some new tactics . He clearly has ability .
Both horses were ridden by James Davies and led up by Vova and Kirsty . It was then an extremely long journey back due to traffic on the M25!
