19th March - Stable News

We have glorious sunshine in Sussex today, perfect for Paddy's Poem to enjoy a well deserved rest in the field after his run at Cheltenham yesterday. We don't have any runners today, but I am very proud of both efforts put in by our horses "The Mighty Don" and "Paddy's Poem" on the big stage at Cheltenham this week for there lovely owners and Team Gifford. They both tried and travelled and jumped very well in there races. They both ran with credit and were given great rides by James Davies. Both races turned in to a bit of a sprint rather than a strong need to end gallop which would have suited these two. The way the races were run and on the ground they didn't quite get up the hill.

Delta Rose who ran at Huntingdon again ran well, she just needs to learn to settle a bit as got tired in the closing stages, she definately showed she has plenty of ability. Sometimes these horses just need a bit more time as we learn about them.

Tomorrow we have a busy day at Kempton Park with three runners. First of all Fairway Freddy runs in the 2:05 Kempton 20 MAR 2021 ITV4 2m Virgin Bet Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 3) (5yo+ 0-135). James Davies takes the ride for The New Gold Dream partenership. Freddy is on great form and should love the ground. Andrew Veale will lead Freddy up.

Then we have "Didtheyleaveuouttoo" who runs in the 2:40 Kempton 20 MAR 2021 ITV4 2m5f (Winter) Virgin Bet Silver Plate Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 2) (4yo+). Didtheyleaveuouttoo belongs to J.P and

has plenty of ability, we just need to concentrate on getting him a clear round of jumping. He has done plenty of schooling at home. He should enjoy the ground and again, James Davies takes the ride. Kirsty Huff who rides him at home with lead him up.

Last but not least we have "Cobbs Corner" running in the5:05 Kempton 20 MAR 2021 RTV 2m (Winter) Virgin Bet Maiden Open National Hunt Flat Race (GBB Race) (Class 5) (4-6yo). This is only his second run and we are still learning about him. James Davies takes the ride and we are looking for a positive run.

Good Luck to all connections and Team Gifford.
