We have been up at Doncaster Spring Store sales buying some NEW recruits for owners and the shop window. We did very well and the four NEW geldings arrived last night.
It was great to be back at the sales, with no masks, the usual buzz and familiar faces! We use the agenda Kevin Ross and his wife Anna. The first successful purchase was by the sire Elusive Pimpernel, he is the same sire of one of our yard favourites "Fairway Freddy" who is such a tough consistant performer. This gelding has a bit more size about him and w just fell in love with him. He moves well and has a super temperament. He is FOR SALE and if sold quickly will be at cost ( £20,000plus VAT which you can claim back and the usual transport and sales commission etc).
We then bought a stunning Kapgarde gelding called "Jasper Boy" from the family of Lacdoudal . A stunning very raceey type. Kapgarde is a very good sire ( stallion) and some of his progeny include "A Plus Yard, Clan Des Obeaux, Fakir D'oudairies, Hammersley Lake to name a few. We bought a lovely 3 year old gelding by "Dartmouth" who is. relatively NEW sire ( By Dubarwi) from the family of "Black Corton" He will be called Grand Sabre and is owned by our yard sponsors. He is a very exciting prospect.
Last of all we bought another 3 year old French store horse who we are calling "Pepe le Pew" for now. Ruth owns him and we will train him to run in a bumper when he is ready . He is a gorgeous individual with a nice pedigree and a sharp outlook.
