A wet drizzly day in Sussex today as we head to Lingfield Park Racecourse with two runners.
Ledders runs in the 3:05 Lingfield 20 FEB 2025 SKY2m3½f (2m3f110y) Sri Lanka, The Jewel Of Asia Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 4) (4yo+) for The Vivid Racing Partnership. Eleven runners go to post and James Davies takes the ride. Ledders has been off the track for a long time due to a few niggles. He has done lots of schooling at home and jumps really well. The ground today is a bit of an unknown for him and could be quite testing, so it will be very interesting to see how he copes with that. He will also come on for the run after such a long break. We are looking for a good round of jumping and him to gallop all the way to the line. We will learn alot more about him today. Kirsty Huff and Ally Holway are taking them racing today.
Our second runner is "Grand Sabre" who is by Dartmouth. This sires NH progeny are proving to take a long time to mature both mentally and physically and this is certainly the case with him. He is still not the finished article, this is a step up in trip for him and softer ground, we are hoping this will play to his strengths, but again we will learn more from today. His future is a staying chaser, so it may be that he needs even further and fences as he continues to mature. Grand Sabre will be led up by Ally Holway and ridden by James Davies. Good Look to Graeme & Yvonne and Team Gifford.
Today we are looking to learn more and take positives from each run. Lingfield is a fantastic jumps track but can be very testing, lets see if it suits these two horses.
