20th January- Stable New

A much brighter , somewhat chilly morning in Sussex today. Yesterday we had four runners, two at Plumpton and two at Newbury . We were pleased with two of our runners and slightly disappointed with two .

Our first runner was the stunning big filly "Kings Krackertara" AKA "Daphne". She is approx 17hh big future chaser who will want 3miles plus and fences, which is when you will see the best of her. She ran a cracker yesterday in the 12:45 Newbury 19 Jan 2022British EBF Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle (Qualifier For The EBF Mares' NH Novices' Series to finish 7th of 13 runners in a two mile 4 hurdle at Newbury. She jumps for fun and just keeps galloping. She can now run in handicaps then it wont be long until she is over a fence. One to watch for the future. She has very good staying chasers in her pedigree.

Our next runner was "My Bad Lucy" who ran in the 1:25Plumpton 19 Jan 2022 Goodwin Racing Telephone Bookmakers Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)(Class 4) (4yo+) (2m4f114yds) 2m4½f Good To Soft 12 hurdles. Luca as we call him is also by "Kayf Tara" like Big Daphne above and was very weak when we got him. He also will need fences and further in time. Yesterday we were very pleased how he ran. He jumped well , just stumbling on landing at the last but kept galloping all the way to the line and finished 5th not beaten miles. He is not a hurdler but a future chaser , he is just learning the game and is getting stronger and better each time. He will have a few more runs in hurdles to gain experience but will come in to his own when her gets to the fences.

Our third runner was "Itsnotwhatyouthink" AKA "Boris". Last time Boris ran he had a nasty fall at the first at Ascot. So yesterday the most important thing was clear round. Which we got. He ran in the 3:10Plumpton 19 Jan 2022 Get Racing's Best Ratings With Timeform Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) (0-110, 4yo+) (3m217yds) 3m1f Good To Soft 14 hurdles with Tabitha Worsley on board. Tabitha said he was jumping very slow and deliberate , which is more than likely down to his fall last time out, so with him it is all going to be about getting his confidence back. He also found the track a bit tight and Tabitha feels he will be better at a bigger galloping track. So lots to take on board and plan for his next run. Boris has ability but is just taking a bit longer to get to the bottom of , as we know they are not machines.

Our final runner was "Onesteptwosteps" who ran in the bumper at Ascot, we were hopeful of a good run following his debut. He ran very keenly at the beginning and then really struggled with the tacky ground which caught him out yesterday. We will try him in a tongue tie next time out , we know he is a lot better than that.
