21ST April - Stable News

Well a beautiful week weather wise in Sussex and it really feels like we are near summer and getting towards the end of the season. Tomorrow we have one runner "El Tornado" who is going to Warwick where he will be running in the13.30 Warwick Watch On Racing TV Novices' Handicap Chase with Tabitha Worsley onboard. George Sturgis will be leading him up. We have struggled to get Stormy as he is known to settle and finish his races, but last time out he galloped all the way to the line. So tomorrow we need to see continued improvement to warrant him continuing as a racehorse. George has done a lot of work with his jumping and he is now going very well. So fingers crossed he runs a positive race and finishes well.

A few of our horses have now finished for the season and are starting to wind down. Castledhem has been retired from racing because he really can't breathe under pressure even after a wind op, so his lovely owners have re-homed him to one of our staff to go eventing. Mystic Dreamer has retired from racing to go to stud. Rose of Aghaboe and Kadiyama and Jungle Prose have finished for the season and are winding down , just doing one canter. They will be turned out next month once the grass has come through and it has warmed up. Jungle Prose ran at Fontwell last week and absolutely was never going. So after three disappointing runs on this ground we well bring her back earlier for the softer ground. Fingers crossed we may have already found a suitable replacement for Mystic Dreamer ( details to follow shortly) . We do a have a few RARE SPACES IN THE Nick Gifford Racing Club, so get in touch if you would like to know more. Paddy's Poem is going home this week for his holidays and will be back next season.

On Saturday we are at Sandown for the last day of the jumps season, where 5 time winning Fairway Freddy will run in The Josh Gifford Memorial Chase for "The New Gold Dream Partnership". . Belargus is also entered for Sandown and then Punchestown next week. We will make a decision tomorrow on where he will go. We have some flat runners over the summer too. "Follow Intello" goes to Salisbury on Sunday for "The Findon Flyers" partnership ( SHARES STILL AVAILABLE ) . This will be his first run for us . We also have Zuba that may run at Good wood. So lots going on.

We have had a good season for our size yard, A very healthy strike rate. It will be nice to get a few more horses. We should be starting again with about 30 which is great. It would be nice to get up to 40/45 which would be perfect.

We will also have two new syndicates starting in June with 5% ( two in each syndicate) and 10% shares available. We may be getting an exciting filly very closely related to Bobworth. No outlay, just £225 per month for 10% training fees on a three season lease following the first run. So do get in touch if you are interested in joining in the fun !
