21st November- Stable News

Well the rain came again !! torrential in Findon today, everyone soaked through to the bones !! All horses and staff, plugged through.

.

We have had a few runners since the last update. A great win at Plumpton on 14th November for "The Hope Springs" Partnership and "Northern Poet". Great ride by James Davies. Tom as we call NP had been off for a year following a tendon injury so great to see him back in winning ways.

Then we had bit of a wash out at Lingfield with Churchills boy pulling up in very heavy ground after 14mm of rain in a hurdle.. James reported he was very green, so we will put a line through that run. River Tyne plugged on in the mud on slightly better ground on the chase track and finished in 3rd place, a good effort in tough conditions.

Belargus then ran on the 18th November at Ascot with Niall Houlihan on board . This was all about a good clear round, the ground was quicker than he would like and we knew they would probably go a bit quick, but he ran on to finish 6th. A very pleasing debut in unsuitable conditions. Niall was very pleased with him and Izzy who led him up and looks after and rides him was very relieved and pleased. Izzy won best turned out too !!

Tomorrow we have one runner. Kilford's Queen goes to Southwell for her first run over fences, it will be all about a clear round and finishing the race. We have not got to the bottom of Liz yet in regards to ground and trip, so we will learn a lot more about her tomorrow. James Davies takes the ride and Ella Garland will be leading up. Good Luck to all connections and Team Gifford.
