Wow what a performance from Half Hoping under James Davies having his racecourse debut at Chepstow in the 3:54 Chepstow 21 NOV 2025 SKY 2m (2m16y) BetWright Safer Gambling Open National Hunt Flat Race (Category 1 Elimination) (GBB Race) (Class 5)(4-5yo)
Half Hoping only just getting beaten in to 2nd place by the odds on favourite who already has racecourse experience and cost £400k . Although it's always so frustrating to finish in 2nd place, especially when it was so close, all connections are thrilled and excited by the performance of "Jude" as we call him at home.
We bought "Half Hoping" at Goffs Sales because we just loved his attitude. Jude is by Jeu St Eloi ( french sire ) out of a Soldier of Fortune dam. We did have him entered at Ascot too but went to Chepstow for the soft ground. We have taken our time with him and today he showed what a great attitude he has. Jude was led up by head girl Kirsty Huff and is ridden and looked after at home by Ollie Goldstein and Lizzie Skidmore ( Ollie looks after him and they bothe ride him)
Our horses are all running well and it is a testimont to the AMAZING TEAM GIFFORD !!
