Today we stayed local and work rider George Sturgis took "Ami Bondhu" to Fontwell park to run in the 4:00 Fontwell 23 FEB 2025 SKY 2m5½f (2m5f164y) starsports.bet Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) (4yo+ 0-100) and eight runners went to post. It was a step up in trip and also trying soft ground ( heavy in places). James Davies took the ride in what ended up a very eventful race with fallers and unseated rider. Ami Bondhu ran a very solid race to finish second of theeight beaten by a very well handicapped horse that was carrying 18lbs less in weight. So a pleasing run, he coped with the ground and jumped and travelled well in the ground. He is from a staying family and that is coming through. Lots to look forward to with this horse. He is owned by P. Bowtell and J.Shinton.
Tomorrow we are planning on going to Plumton with Koenigsstern who runs in the 2 mile chase. There is an inspection in the morning due to large amounts of rain forecast overnight. So it could prove to be very testing. Lets see what the morning brings.
