Wow a beautiful Spring day in Findon. Today we had two runners at Chepstow. Belargus having technically his first run of the season really after falling at the first at Cheltenham earlier on in he season after an over exuberant jump and crumpling on landing. He has also had a few niggles at the beginning of the season, so today was about a clear round first and foremost and finishing well. He will come on for the run, stayed the trip and as long as he comes out of the race well will be ready for Cheltenham fingers crossed. Izzy Mills led Belargus up and rides him at home. Kirsty Huff drove the lorry to the races.
Next we had a new horse "Churchills Boy running in the bumper. "Mike" as he is called at home is a big chasing type and won and English P2P bumper at Barbury. He is a very big chaser type, super temperament and is owned by Mrs H.Allan and Mrs Lynne Meagher. He wasn't even mentioned in the commentary pre race , so it was brilliant when he WON in such great style. Great lift for the whole of team Gifford and the owners. Great ride James Davies and Izzy Mills who led him up and rides him a lot at home. As always its a team effort. So well done to the whole Team Gifford ! and a special mention to Dave Phelan where he started off his life and won his point.
