26th September - Stable News

Today we have one runner at Exeter. River Tyne runs in the 3:17 Exeter 26 MAR 2023 3m (3m54y) Bet At racingtv.com Mares' Handicap Chase (Class 5) (5yo+ 0-105). River Tyne will be ridden by James Davie and led up by Ella Garland who rides and looks after her at home. River is a very consistent performer and often the bridesmaid !!!! We really hope she will have her day soon. Maybe today is the day. She has been 2nd on her last three starts . Good Luck River Tyne, Tony and Holly and Team Gifford !

Yesterday we ran Grand Sabre in the Goffs bumper at Newbury. He was so green, he did not know what had hit him. So hands up as hindsight is a wonderful thing, he was not ready and we should not have run him. He has come out of the race absolutely fine , eaten up and all good. He will have an easy time of it until the end of the season, playing around with him, schooling over the jumps etc and have a good summer out at grass to mature and grow with the plan to give him a run in a bumper in the Autumn. Patience is clearly the key with some of these young horses. They all mature , grow and develop at different stages and he is not mentally and physically strong enough yet. It will come.

In other news we are still on foal watch, waiting for two mares to foal down. Very exciting times.
