2nd February - Stable News Update

On Saturday the 30th January , Legendary Grace went up to Doncaster to run in the British European Breeders Fund (EBF) Mares' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race (Nhmops/GBB Race)(Class 5) (4-6yo) (2m128yds) 2m½f Soft, 9 runners went to post. Tabitha Worsley took the ride. Firstly we wanted a clear round ( passed the stable yard) as this naught Minx ducked out at Taunton on the 22nd when travelling very sweetly. Legendary Grace took a keen hold and the ground was very tiring/sticky. she finished 5th place in what looks on paper to be quite a good bumper. she will be out again in a few weeks, the plan to settlle her so she stays to the line. She is a gutsy feisty filly who will battle when she gets there.

Yesterday we had two runners on the "All weather jumpers bumper " meeting at Lingfield. Jungle Prose for "The Nick Gifford Racing Club" ran a cracker to finish 2nd in the 3:50Lingfield (AW)1 Feb 2021Follow At The Races On Twitter Mares' "Jumpers' Bumper" National Hunt Flat Race (Class 5) (4yo+) 2m Standard To Slow. James Davies took the lead , we are absolutely thrilled with the result, we took her knowing that there was a 4 time flat winner in the race and would have been thrilled to finish in the first 4 . She is such a gutsy , genuine mare so to finish 2nd was fantastic. She will hopefully be running in a hurdle next week, fingers crossed

Then we had "Castledhem" for Mr and Mrs Bowtell running in the 4:20Lingfield (AW)1 Feb 2021Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 "Jumpers' Bumper" National Hunt Flat Race (Class 4) (4yo+) 2m with James Davies on board. Now this was a very hot contest and we knew this on entering. We wanted to see where we are with Castledhem following his wind op. Although on paper he finished 9th of 13 , he actually ran with credit against some serious horses. The winner finished behind "Didtheyleaveuoutto" in the listed bumper at Ascot and the 3rd won the Sandown Bet365 Gold Cup. The time of this race was 5 seconds faster than all the other races that day, which equates to about 15 lengths. It was an end to end gallop which really tested his breathing. We will now look to go hurdling on better ground in the Spring with this boy. He definitely

has ability and he jumps well.
