Funny old weather we are having, we are going to be doing the rain dance again soon !! It just seems to go from one extreme to the other.
On the 27th February we had four runners at Plumpton. First of all we had "Onesteptwosteps" having his first run in the 2mile maiden hurdle after a wind op surgery, and we were really pleased with his run. He finished in 7th place and galloped all the way to the line. The most important thing was to see that he finished his race and realises he can breathe again, with out any problems. It may take a few more runs for him really to get his confidence , but lots to look forward to with this boy, In time once he learns to race again we will step him up.
Then we had "Kilfords Queen" for the Nick Gifford Racing club. She has been a very frustrating horse that works very nicely at home then has not been transferring that to the track. She ran in the 2mile 2 hurdle and she did get outpaced finishing 7th. However that was the first time she has galloped all the way to the line and Tabitha was thrilled with her. We just need to step her up in trip
, same ground or better ground and fingers crossed we will be finding the key to her.
in the 3.35pm mares handicap chase, we had "Yesnosorry" who travelled really well throughout but didn't finish her race. She actually came out of her race very stiff , so it may just be she pulled something. She seems fine now , so we will get her right for her next run.
Then Cobbs Corner just got totally run off his feet as did a couple of other horses in the last, They just went far too quick for him. So we will look to step him up in trip. He has come out of the race absolutely fine.
Today we have My Bad Lucy AKA Luca running in the 2:00 Doncaster 3 MAR 2023 3m (2m7f214y) Virgin Bet Daily Extra Places Novices' Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 4) (5yo+ 0-120). This is a 0-120 race so it is going to be competitive. He does love the track though so fingers crossed for a good run. Ella Garland who looks after him at home is leading him up and Kirsty Huff has driven the lorry. Good Luck to Mike and Angel O'Shea and Team Gifford !
