The sun is beaming in Sussex, and the majority of the horses are enjoying the warmth on their backs and stuffing there faces with the grass. It is our quiet time, where the staff take it in turn to have there holidays and the whole yard gets steam cleaned and painted.
We have about 6 horses still in training mainly to run on the flat over the summer. We also have two three year olds we bought at the Doncaster sales that are in the process of being broken in.
Zuba who ran last Friday at Goodwood and finished 2nd under Hector Crouch. We have Didtheyleaveuouttoo who we have been trying on the flat, he goes to Nottingham tomorrow trying a step up in trip to see how he gets on. Jamie Spencer will be taking the ride. He is bit slow out of the stalls but hopefully the longer distance will suit him. We also have Follow Intello who will be out again soon too. Legendary Grace is also still in training and ran well to finish 4th at Huntingdon last time out, just jumping left a bit. She is still green and learning the game (only 4 years old).
Zuba goes again on Friday at Goodwood this week and will be ridden by Laura Pearson.
We have just brought in our filly by Finsceal For who had a minor set back last season and once she is back cantering in July we will be setting up a small syndicate with her.
We are in the process of finding a NEW horse for The Nick Gifford Racing Club to replace Mystic Dreamer , so that is really exciting. There are 4 spaces left in the racing club from July if you fancy joining the fun. Two horses, 20 members , £200 a month plus joining fee.
