Stable News- Friday 13th
Today we had one runner today at Southwell. Castledhem went for his hurdling debut all the way up to Southwell in the hope of finding good ground. Unfortunately the ground was a lot softer than we hoped for and he just did not travel in it.
So as always a big learning curve with young horses, things to take away from the day...he really needs good ground. He also needs racecourse experience. So we will have to plan and pick and choose to find the best/better ground.
He may well be one we that we think of giving a break in the winter to , and then run through Spring/Summer. Anyway lots of discussion to have with the owners and then we will hatch a plan. One thing is for sure is he is better than his run showed today !! Andrew Veale took him to the races and Geena Gover led him up.
Our next runner is "The Mighty Don" for The Golden Rose partnership who goes to Cheltenham on Sunday for the 1:15 Cheltenham 15 NOV 2020 RTV 3m½f (3m80y) (Old) mallardjewellers.com Novices' Chase (GBB Race) (Class 2) (5yo+). 6 runners go to post and James Davies takes the ride. He is on great form at home and we will take our chance. We know the track suits him, the ground may be a question mark with all the rain forecast.
Good Luck "The Golden Rose Partnership" and Team Gifford
