Saturday 25th March - Stable News

We started off the day with an owners morning. We all walked up and watched the horse on the gallops and then returned to the yard for homemade cake and a glass of champagne . We were very lucky with the weather and managed to stay dry ! The Sun even came out for a little bit !! A huge thank you to the owners who came and all the staff for making the morning a success !! Great team work as always !

Race Reviews- Thursday Chepstow

On Thursday we were at Chepstow with our three runners, Miss get The Veuve who finished 4th in the in the 2:00 Chepstow 23 MAR 2023 2m (2m11y) Core Hereford Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle (Novices' Championship Hurdle Qualifier) (GBB) (Class 4) (4yo+), under James Davies. The weather and ground made it a real slog and she ran well to finish 4th. We can now look to run her in handicaps. She is learning all the time and improving with each run.

Our Second runner was "Kings Krackertara" who ran in the 4:20 Chepstow 23 MAR 2023 2m7½f (2m7f131y) Polyroof Products Handicap Chase (Class 5) (5yo+ 0-100). Daphne as we call her at home ran a blinder and also finished 4th, if it had been another furlong she would have got second. She really flew at the finish. Daphne was ridden by Tabitha Worsley.

Last but not least we had Pip Away making her debut in the 5:25 Chepstow 23 MAR 2023 2m (2m11y) Central Group Mares' Open National Hunt Flat Race (Category 1 Elimination) (GBB Race) (Div II) (Class 5) (4-6yo). This was Pip Away's first run and at this stage in the proceedings the ground was also very chewed up especially in the home straight . We were thrilled with her run, when the ground was better down the back, James said she really ran on and got in to the race, just struggled on the more chewed up ground. She showed a great attitude and we will look next time for better ground. An exciting prospect.

Today Newbury

Today we have one runner at Newbury for Mr and Mrs Brooks. Grand Sabre a four year old by Dartmouth

is having a debut in the bumper, the ground is going to be very soft and there are 21 runners. Today is all about first time on a racecourse, , he is still maturing and we will see the best of him when he is a bit older. However we have to start the journey somewhere. Good Luck Sabre and graeme and Yvonne. Hannah West will be leading Sabre up today and Ella Garland has ridden Sabre the majority of his time here.
