Today we have one runner at Kempton. Wolf catcher Jack will be ridden by Luke Morris in the 6:10 Kempton (AW) POLYTRACK 4 DEC 2019 RTV 1m4f (1m3f219y) 32Red Casino Handicap (Class 5) (3yo+ 0-75). The aim with this lovely horse is to go hurdling, but he has had a long time off due to injury. So the point of today is to blow the cobwebs away and see where we are with him. Fingers crossed he will be fine and we will then start planning his hurdling campaign.
Update on yesterdays runners:
We were very pleased with Belargus who was ridden by William Kennedy at Southwell. He said he got stuck in the mud but coped and jumped well to finish 4th.
We then had two seconds at Lingfield. Northern Poet ran an absolute blinder to finish second in the bumper with a penalty. Totally thrilled with him. He just unfortunately got blocked in on the rails. We will continue to school him over hurdles but may go for one more bumper if we get good ground.
Rose of Aghaboe also ran really well in ground she hated for her first attempt over hurdles. James Davies said he knew she didn't like it going to the first. So she showed a superb attitude to plug on. Lingfield is on clay so the ground was really gluey/holding as it had started to dry out ( rather than soft sloppy ground you can gallop through) . Some horses can cope with that but she found it really hard. The winner is a serious horse and we were please to finish second. We will look for a mares bumper for her probably in January now.
