This week we will making our hay off part of the gallops and big paddock!! It looks like it is going to be a very good year for hay ! The sun is shining in Sussex and we brought in 5 of the horses today, Missfit, Cobbs Corner, Pip Away, Northern Poet and Nelly !!
All the stables have been steam cleaned and painted, still some more maintenance jobs still to do but we are getting there. Izzy, Andrew and tomorrow Ella G are back from their long summer break and excited for the season ahead. The majority of horses will have a few more weeks out before coming in to start the fitness programme.

s Queen who we bought with chasing in mind, this year she will go handicap hurdling and then chasing. She is a big filly who last year was still a bit weak, a lot more to look forward to this year when we will eventually step her up in trip and go to fences.
Then we have a very exciting NEW recruit " Jaspers Boy" The NEW Racing Club horse is “Jasper Boy” is French and 3 years old, we bought him for £22,000 plus VAT extras etc at the recent sales in Doncaster. He is by a well know French sire called “Kapgarde” His sire ( DAD) Kapgarde was the 4th Leading National Hunt Sire in 2021-22 with an impressive 47% Winnerr/Runner Strike Rate (41/87). He's 23 this year and still commands a 15,000 Euros stud fee. His winners last season included Grade 1 winners of the Gold Cup - A Plus Tard, Mildmay Chase - Clan DesObeaux & Melling Chase - Fakir D’oudairies.. He is a speedier sharp type and wont take long. He will start off in a bumper.
