Stable News - Nov 2

Pretty hideous weather here in Findon today, spare a thought for all the hard core stable staff out there today !!! Still cant seem to find a perfect pair of waterproofs....!!

So today we have two runners at Ascot, both could have done without the rain to be honest , but hoping the ground might not be so bad. It normally drains very well up the straight at Ascot where the new course is so fingers crossed.

The first runner is "Didtheyleaveyououtto" for JP McManus. He really does like good ground, Leighton Aspell takes the ride because Barry is in Ireland, it is a hot contest and we are looking for a good run. He is a horse with ability but towards the end of last season had a few niggles. He runs in the 14.45 Ascot - Sodexo Handicap Hurdle (Listed) Saturday 2nd November 2019 14:45. Distance: 1m 7f 152y Going: Good to Soft (Good in places) We also think he needs two and a half miles, but there is not another suitable race around at the moment and he needs the run. Arthur Berry will be leading up Didtheyleaveyououtto and he does a lot of the work on him at home.

Our next runner is "Castledhem" who is owned by Mr & Mrs P Bowtell. He was entered at Cheltenham last week in the bumper and then they had the torrential rain and the going was heavy, so we take our chance today in what looks like another hot contest, but hopefully on better round. James Davies takes the ride. James rode him in his bumper at the end of last season at fontwell where he was second. He is a very nice young horse. If it goes soft it will not suit him. Fingers crossed for a positive run again. Castledhem runs in the 15.55 Ascot Millgate Standard Open NH Flat Race Saturday 2nd November 2019 15:55 Distance: 1m 7f 152y Going: Good to Soft (Good in places). Arthur will be leading up.

Michael Harris is responsible for the fabulous photos of JP .
